General Info:

Vitamin D is both a nutrient we eat and a hormone our bodies make. It is a fat-soluble vitamin that has long been known to help the body absorb and retain calciumĀ and phosphorus; both are critical for building bone. Also, laboratory studies show that vitamin D can reduce cancer cell growth, help control infections and reduce inflammation. Many of the bodyā€™s organs and tissues have receptors for vitamin D, which suggest important roles beyond bone health, and scientists are actively investigating other possible functions.

Description:

  • Vitamin D as cholecalciferol
  • For healthy bones-teeth-immune system
  • 1000 IU per daily dose
  • Without the use of water
  • Free of gluten, lactose & GMOs
  • 1 month pack

IBSA D3-ODFILM 1000 IUĀ is a dietary supplement with vitamin D3 in the form of orodispersible films, with natural orange flavour and less than 1 kcal per dose. Dissolves in the mouth within a few seconds, without requiring the use of water.

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin found naturally in certain foods (eg eggs, fatty fish, dairy products), while the main source of vitamin D is the synthesis that is activated when the sun's UVB rays come in contact with the skin.

Clinical and epidemiological studies have shown that for the majority of the population, daily intake of vitamin D through diet and sun exposure is not sufficient to ensure adequate levels in the body.

Vitamin D participates in the process ofĀ cell division & specializationĀ and contributes to:

  • the normal functioning of the immune system *
  • the normalĀ absorption and utilization of calcium & phosphorusĀ *
  • maintaining normal blood calcium levels *
  • maintaining the normal condition ofĀ bonesĀ &Ā teethĀ *
  • maintaining normalĀ muscleĀ function *
* The above information about Vitamin D is an official health claim by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), EU Regulation No. 432/2012, No. EFSA Journal 2009 Ā· 7 (9): 1227 [Vitamin D], 2009 Ā· 7 (9): 1227, 2011 Ā· 9 (6): 2203 [Vitamin D], 2010 Ā· 8 (2): 1468 [Vitamin D]
